Meet Dave

Hi! I’m Dave, a full-time actor & voice-over professional with a natural, conversational style.

Well, most of the time, anyway – if an over-the-top character voice is what you’re looking for, check out my Animation Reel! I’m based in Chicago, and typically available to respond to email from 9am-6pm Central Time Monday-Friday. If you’re looking for a friendly, confident voice with a quick turnaround for your next project, I’m your guy! Feel free to contact me using the form below – I’d love to hear about your project!

Voiceover Coaching

How long have you been doing voiceover work?
I’ve been a full-time voiceover artist since 2014. I’ve done commercials, industrial narrations, animation, video games, IVR, & just about everything else except audiobooks. I can’t teach you much about audiobooks, but I can recommend some great coaches if that’s what you’re interested in.
How do your 1-on-1 sessions work? What equipment do I need?
We’ll schedule a zoom meeting, and work on any scripts you want for 30 minutes. You’ll need Zoom, a camera so I can see you while you work, a microphone to record yourself, & a way to listen back to yourself immediately after you’ve done a read. I don’t have to hear playback; only you do.
What do your sessions focus on?
Our sessions will focus on you finding your natural voice, to give that “conversational, non-announcery” read that everyone’s asking for right now.
Can I ask you other voiceover-related questions about gear / recording spaces / career advice etc.?
Sure thing! But I’d save that stuff for if we have time left over after working through the scripts you want to work on.
What kinds of work do you specialize in?
As stated above, I’ve done pretty much everything. The focus of these sessions is primarily going to be commercial work, but if you’ve got an animation or video game audition you want to work on, we can absolutely tackle that. Those are sometimes the most fun!
What’s the cost?
$25 for a 30-minute session.
How do I pay?
Paypal, Venmo, & Chase Quickpay are preferred. Payment details will be in the email I send you.
Are your sessions tax deductible?
Heck yeah they are. Save your receipts!
What’s your payment/cancellation policy?
Typically, I require payment for our session the day before. However, if you get a last-minute audition you’d like to work on immediately, feel free to contact me, & if it works with my schedule, you can certainly pay at the time of the session. As far as cancellations/rescheduling goes, if it’s at least 24 hours before the session, you can get a full refund. If not, rescheduling is the best I can do.
When are you available for sessions?
Typically, Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm CT.
Do you offer sessions longer than 30 minutes?
If my schedule permits, we can do an hour session.
Any discounts or package deals available?
Yup! Four 30-minute sessions for $75.
I’m interested! What do I do now?
You can email me at with the subject line “Voiceover Coaching” or use the “Contact Me” link below. Include 3 date/time options when you’re available, as well as anything else about you that you’d want me to know! If you already have scripts you’d like to work on, you can attach those to the email, but it’s not necessary.

Voiceover Student Testimonials

Dave is great! I could definitely see and feel an improvement in my skills after just one session. Dave’s approach is friendly and his experience in the industry really comes through in his direction.  Highly recommend to anyone just starting out or needing a little a refresher.

Carlyle D.

Dave was awesome to work with!  Within a couple of minutes, he was able to help me identify and correct some of my bad habits.  We worked on some great techniques to help perfect my reads and auditions.  Dave was professional, knowledgeable, and very fun to work with!  Looking forward to our next session.

Dave is everything we all say we want in a teacher, to the point where it’s almost too good to be true. He’s a no-nonsense coach who gives it to you straight without wasting your time, and is also a working professional who still works exclusively and consistently in Voice Over.

You’re not getting someone who turned to coaching because they can’t book anymore; his advice and feedback are shrewd, honest, and relevant to the current market of voice over. He’s also the single most budget-friendly coach on the market right now, in case you’re someone who balks at seeking coaching because professionals are generally expensive to work with.

You can’t go wrong with Dave.

Dave Bisson is a pleasure to work with. He’s able to emphasize our message with authority and relay complex information, all while remaining accessible to the listener.
